Our CEO Jordan Fliegel was recently featured on the Brand Café, a weekly show broadcasted on the UR Business Network channel of Boston’s UNregular Radio.

The Brand Café is a streaming online radio show hosted by Mike Cameron and Dr. Pam Brill who focus on “connecting brands with the connected world.” These two industry professionals use their show to interview the leaders of innovative brands in order to help them share their businesses and stories with the world.

Jordan chatted with Mike and Pam about CoachUp and how his experience with a private coach helped shape his future.

Welcoming Scott Brown and Cam Neely to the CoachUp Family!

Scott Brown brought his A-game to CoachUp’s recent 3 on 3 #RaisetheRim Tournament

CoachUp announced this week that former Senator Scott Brown and Boston Bruins President Cam Neely have joined its Advisory Board and Board of Directors, respectively.

Brown personally benefitted from the mentorship of a private coach to realize his potential on and off the court. “From an early age, the coaches I met through basketball forever changed the direction of my life and allowed me to overcome a challenging childhood,” Brown said in a statement. “I will never forget the mentors who pushed me and helped me realize my potential. I’m excited to join CoachUp and hope to apply the lessons from my personal story with basketball and help others truly maximize the coaching experience.”

The CoachUp Story

The best way to explain what CoachUp is about is to tell you my own sports story.

Because I was a tall kid who loved sports everyone always assumed I’d be a natural at basketball. And, although I did make my high school freshman team, I was really just an average player who really wasn’t going anywhere. Then a director at a summer camp suggested I work with private coach. But it turned out to be a long struggle to find someone good who could help me at my precise level. Nevertheless, after a frustrating period of discouraging false starts, I finally found my coach.

Coachup Wins “Most Likely to Succeed” Peer Award at MassChallenge

We are pleased to announce that yesterday Coachup won “Most Likely to Succeed” at the MassChallenge peer award ceremony. Other teams winning peer awards were Delightfully, who won “Best All Around Team”, and STUI who won the “Hardest Working Team” award. It was truly an honor to work with these other teams and we are proud to show off our new trophy!

TechStars Demo Day Wrap-Up

TechStars Demo Day is an important event for the Boston startup community. Investors and entrepreneurs will descend on Demo Day for presentations from the 13 companies in the program. CoachUp is looking forward to demonstrating its recent rapid growth and upcoming company goals.

In total, MassChallenge awarded over $1 million to winners from a field of 1,237 applicants and 26 finalists.
