Why I joined the CoachUp Team

After meeting with 50 different companies I decided to join CoachUp because it has an amazing team and a huge vision. It’s that simple. We have an opportunity to get every kid to the next level in sports + life. What could be more awesome than working with the best people on such a great mission?

When I was a kid my parents made me take tennis lessons every summer. Frankly, I hated it. Don’t get me wrong, I always enjoyed the game but I had group lessons with a teacher who was very impatient. He wasn’t supportive and even the slightest imperfection wasn’t tolerated. It just wasn’t fun and to this day I still won’t pick up a racquet.

CoachUp connects CNET with Coach for Google Glass experiment

When CNET and CBS Interactive reporter, Bridget Carey, needed an archery coach – she reached out to CoachUp for help.

Last week we connected Carey with CoachUp Coach, MJ Rodgers, one of our premiere archery coaches. Coach Rodgers has coached archery for over 20 years; he has coached an athlete at the 2004 Olympic Summer games in Athens, as well as the US Paralympic Archery team in London this past summer.

CoachUp featured on the UR Business Network

Our CEO Jordan Fliegel was recently featured on the Brand Café, a weekly show broadcasted on the UR Business Network channel of Boston’s UNregular Radio.

The Brand Café is a streaming online radio show hosted by Mike Cameron and Dr. Pam Brill who focus on “connecting brands with the connected world.” These two industry professionals use their show to interview the leaders of innovative brands in order to help them share their businesses and stories with the world.

Jordan chatted with Mike and Pam about CoachUp and how his experience with a private coach helped shape his future.

ESPN’s “Broke” and How CoachUp Can Help

Most of us have heard the incredible and ridiculous stories of one-time wealthy professional athletes going broke after their playing days. ESPN’s 30 for 30 films did a great piece on a number of these athletes in “Broke,” a documentary directed by Billy Corben.
